I am a member of the National Association of Productivity and Professional Organizers (NAPO), and part of the Golden Circle – meaning I have been in business for quite some time. In addition to strict personal professionalism, I also operate under the NAPO Code of Ethics. I stay current with the latest trends by attending meetings and conferences, taking classes, reading publications, and staying up-to-date with the latest technology. Early on, I was certified in Enhanced Harm Reduction (EHR) for Hoarders. I am also a member of the Women’s Networking Alliance and support women-owned businesses when possible.
I live in San Jose, CA with my husband and three children. My husband is an adapted (special needs) PE teacher, and we balance two full-time working adults in a pretty active household. In 2008 I graduated from San Jose State University with a BS in Kinesiology (the study of the human body and movement), and after working in the field for a short two years I realized that I had a unique skillset of being able to connect with people, listen to their needs, and rearrange their space to offer more serenity and increased productivity. I launched EMPOWER! Professional Organizing in 2011 – before marriage and kids – and have continued full-time throughout these years offering personalized services for everyday households and businesses.
I was born and raised in small town Placerville, CA. I was a Division I goalkeeper (soccer) in college, and completed my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at San Jose State University. Following graduation, I spent time working to re-open and manage a San Jose based non-profit therapeutic facility. At this facility, I fine-tuned my organizational and project management skills. Although I make my living as a professional organizer, I always make time to work with female athletes, helping them become well-developed athletes and well-developed young people. I am an active goalkeeper trainer, and volunteer with Veterans and persons with physical disabilities.
Over the years, I have worked with countless residences, businesses, and non-profits. Additionally, I am proud to have been part of, and Director of, an annual western-region multi-day overnight sport competition for injured, ill, and wounded Veterans. From 2013-2020, I worked closely with our Nation’s Heroes, the Department of Defense, all branches of service, Veterans Affairs, regional Paralympic Sport Clubs, Paralympians and Olympians, Medal of Honor Recipients, and local, regional, and national coaches, and community members.
